My Top 5 Basic Beauty/Health Tips
5. Wash your sheets and pillow cases every 5-7 days.
When we break out, we panic. Sometimes that pimple could be the result of something as simple as washing your bedding and hair scarves.
4. Need Energy? Drink This
My go to energy booster is an 8oz glass of grapefruit juice with 2-3 teaspoons of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar. It's great for your skin and organs. Plus, the vinegar gives a kick. ACV is also great for the digestive system.
3. Have a pimple that you need gone within the next day or so?
My grandmother taught me this when I was 13, and I've been using it ever since. Take a clean cotton ball and squirt a dime size amount of water onto it. Pop the cotton ball in the microwave for 5-7 seconds with the water facing up. Take it out of he microwave and allow it to cool for a few seconds then place it on the pimple(bump, blackhead, etc.). Try your best to just hold it on the bump (yes, it's very hot). The heat from the cotton ball forces the bump to either come to a head so that you can properly pop it. OR it will minimize the size of the bump if it's a mosquito bite or sting. This trick has worked several times when I have an important event to go to and I need a quick remedy.
2. Eat Green!!
It is SO important that we all maintain a healthy diet. That means giving our bodies the proper nutrients it needs to function properly to do the things we need and want it to do. Also, our outside reflects what's going on in the inside. Foods like kale, broccoli, asparagus, spinach, greens, etc are great for the digestive system and provides certain amino acids and vitamins for the skin.
1. DRINK WATER
You guys may be like "really Chasity?" But yes. That is my number one/ most favorite tip. If your skin is extremely dry, drink more water. If your digestive system is out of whack, drink more water. Feeling extremely tired and yucky? Drink water! Water is the BEST form of hydration. Drink at least half of your body weight in oz. For example, I am 124 pounds. So, every day I drink no less 62 oz of water. Water helps balance breakouts, dry skin, body odors, and hair shedding/growth.
Bonus: Get Active
Workout. Take the stairs, instead of the elevator. Park in the back of the parking lot.
Working out has many benefits besides "staying in shape". Working out forces us to sweat. Sweating opens our pores releasing toxins from our bodies while also promoting hair growth by opening the hair cuticles.
I hope you guys enjoyed!
